These two exchanges are very good if you have to buy a small amount of bitcoins, otherwise it could be difficult if you have to buy more then 25-50 bitcoins at once or even more.
Recently TheRockTrading improved its liquidity, now it’s possible to trade more then 100 btcs at once without a significant amount of order slippage.
Other exchanges not recommended by me but still used by the bitcoin community, probably because of high liquidity.

https://btc-e.com/ BTC-e, i failed to discover physical address for this exchange. Their banking partner seems to be “Mayzus Financial Services Limited”

For large btc investment you can now use BIT, The Bitcoin Investment Trust, now listed at OTCC market, open-ended trust that is invested exclusively in bitcoin and derives its value solely from the price of bitcoin. It enables investors to gain exposure to the price movement of bitcoin without the challenges of buying, storing, and safekeeping bitcoins.

This is no longer a good idea. You will never get USD out of mtgox. If you want to start with bitcoin, go to localbitcoins.com. Then, if you want to trade with it, inject the bitcoins into BTC-E. You will soon realize the reason for the spread in prices of bitcoin is due to the various friction effects within and between exchanges. Gox? Can’t get money out. BTC-E? Hard to get USD in.
Coinbase is good as long as you can wait a little while for them to verify your identity.

What do you think about using programs like Plus500 to invest in Bitcoin? Then you don´t actually buy the bitcoins but just the contracts. Its more risky but gives major profits.

it has been hacked in the past (jan 2015), 19000btc disappeared thus i don’t recommend it

Hi, this blog is btc oriented, occasionally i post some analysis about altcoins. Problem is that altcoins are smaller then btc therefore it’s harder to do a reliable forecast. I don’t think btc needs more money to invest, you can buy a fraction of a btc if money is an issue. Bye
